The route to Naturnser Alm
We start our day on the Vinschgau Cycle Path in Naturns and ride to the sports field. Here, our ascent to the Naturnser Nörderberg begins. Passing several mountain farms, a forest road leads us to the Kreuzbrünnl parking area (1,600 m). From here, we follow the closed forest road directly to the Naturnser Alm, a perfect spot for a well-deserved break.
From Naturnser Alm to Vigiljoch
After resting at the Naturnser Alm, we follow trail no. 9a, which branches off just behind the Alm. A short climb takes us to an old cart track, which leads us across the high plateau to the junction with trail no. 9. This partly steep path takes us downhill to Vigiljoch, where the impressive St. Vigilius Church awaits us.
The return to Naturns
From the church, we descend towards Aschbach on forest road no. 28. In Aschbach, we pass the small Maria im Schnee chapel before the asphalt road leads us down to Töll. At the bottom, we cross the Etsch bridge and rejoin the cycle path, which takes us back to Naturns.
This fantastic mountain bike tour combines the best of nature, culture, and sport, making it an ideal choice for anyone wishing to explore South Tyrol in an active way.
