Stelvio Alpine Pastures Tour
Stilfs - Glurns
This high-alpine mountain bike route leads through one of the most impressive landscapes of the Upper Vinschgau Valley. Starting point is the historic mountain village of Stelvio (1,300 m), easily reached by bike shuttle.
The ascent to the Stelvio Alpine Pasture initially follows well-maintained forest roads. Above the tree line (approx. 2,000 m) begins the real highlight: a technically demanding trail network with constant elevation changes crosses the characteristic alpine landscape. The scenic route offers spectacular views of the Ortler mountain group.
The crowning finale is the 1,000-meter descent to Glurns. This trail combines flowing passages with technical sections and leads through sparse larch forest down to the medieval city walls of Glurns.
