Stallwies - Alpine Hut
The Stallwies mountain inn lies at 1,953 metres on the Waldberg in the Martell valley, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park. The Stricker family's mountain farm looks back on over 680 years of history. From the sun terrace, the view stretches to the Cevedale glacier and some of the highest peaks in South Tyrol. The rye fields of Stallwies are considered the highest in Europe.
The kitchen serves homemade products: fruity jams, house-smoked speck and herbal tea from hand-picked mountain herbs. South Tyrolean dishes such as filled pasta pockets, speck dumplings and cheese nocken are served alongside wines from the Vinschgau.
