Route

Start of the trail
The Fontana Trail starts below the Schartegg car park and shares its first sections with the Lupo Trail. This part of the trail is classified as an easy forest-floor trail (S1) and is technically easy to master.

Middle section
After the Fontana and Lupo trails split, the technical difficulty increases (S2). Riders should be prepared for greater demands on their skills.

Final section
As the trail continues down towards the valley, the difficulty increases further (S3), with more demanding passages that require more experience and technique.

Intermediate entry points
Several intermediate entry points along the trail make it possible to adapt the route to individual skills and preferences.

Finish
The Fontana Trail ends in the valley. From here, the Vinschgau cycle path leads towards Merano or towards the Upper Vinschgau.
