This is the oldest harvest festival in South Tyrol. Since 1886, the Merano Grape Festival has been celebrated annually on the third weekend in October in the streets and squares. The highlight of the festival is the parade on Sunday, which is well worth seeing and attracts numerous spectators to the centre of Merano. Decorated floats, horses, folk dance groups, music bands parade from the Vinschger Tor, through the city centre and along the promenade.
Typical local delicacies are offered at the market on the promenade.
